Tacoma Dome RV show coming soon

Published by chuck under general

One of the Northwest’s largest RV shows is coming to the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Oct. 2-5. General admission to the Tacoma Fall RV Show is a $9, but a discount coupon for $2 off on a weekday admission is available at the show’s website. Parking is free. Many of the new products on display at the show reflect the growing trend toward improved performance in combination with enhanced amenities. Along that theme, Baydo’s RV Center in Fife will debut the new Komfort Lite trailer (21′ to 28′), which features an aluminum frame, fiberglass exterior and flat screen TV. In keeping with a “green” theme, MC Electric Vehicles of Seattle will show off its Miles Electric sedan and the Zenn Sun coupe. The show has a wide range of RVs on display, mostly 2009 models. This year’s show will also include a variety of free seminars: Matt Lynch – TL Central “Towing Systems” Lynch will share tips with RVers about how to make a car that’s not towable (and most aren’t) into one that is towable. Armed with 35 years in the RV business, Lynch will tell how to make towing safe through the use of various towbars for motorhomes, truck camper and travel trailer systems as well as fifth wheel hitches. Eric Davis – Eric’s RV Performance “Improving Your RV Driving Experience” Learn how to command a more comfortable, safer ride with improved handling, fuel economy and performance. Davis will focus the discussion on how the Banks PowerPack system can enhance vehicle performance and economy. He will also talk about preventative maintenance and suspension improvements that make driving less wobbly and more fun. Shirley Lewis – Infinity Coach “RV Design & Decor, Even for the Do-It-Yourselfer” This veteran RV interior designer from Infinity Coach in Sumner will describe the latest coach remodeling trends during her seminar “RV Design & Decor, Even for the Do-It-Yourselfer.” She suggests owners consider how they use their coach before remodeling, reconfiguring or renovating their unit. Some of the most popular remodel trends she will discuss include flat-screen TVs, computer workstations, furniture reupholstering or replacement as well as fixtures/lighting, wall coverings and accessories. Edo Gebenini – Evergreen Auxiliary Power “Care & Use of Inverters in Motor Homes” Learn how inverters, batteries and chargers actually work. Gebenini plans to discuss the new high-end inverters that come with a built-in charger such as those built by Xantrax. According to Gebenini, “smart” inverter-chargers set parameters so that when the battery is full, the charger backs off until needed.

Show hours are Thursday (October 2) 11 am to 8 pm.; Friday and Saturday (October 3 and 4) 11 am to 9 pm; and Sunday (October 5) 11 am to 5 pm. The Tacoma Dome is right off I-5 near downtown Tacoma. From I-5 south take Exit 135, from the north take exit 133.
